What to Wear This Summer - Plus a Very Special Evening in Eccleshall

Summer dressing should feel effortless. Not overthought, not overdone. Just the right pieces, worn with confidence, for long days and warm evenings when you want to look good without trying too hard.
This season we have been putting together a collection that does exactly that. Linen blend trousers that move beautifully. Relaxed blouses in soft prints. Here is how we are thinking about summer dressing this year.
Embrace colour, but keep it considered
Summer is the season to be brave with colour. A cobalt blue blouse, a terracotta linen trouser, a printed midi in shades you would not normally reach for. The key is keeping the rest of the outfit calm. Let one piece lead and build around it in neutrals. Cream, white, camel and stone all work beautifully alongside a bolder statement piece without competing with it.
Invest in the right layers
British summers are unpredictable and anyone who has been caught out at an outdoor event without a jacket knows it. A lightweight kimono, a fine linen shirt worn open, or a soft knit draped over the shoulders all solve this problem without adding bulk or weight. They also have a habit of making an outfit look more considered, which is never a bad thing.
Think about occasion, not just weather
The pieces that earn their place in a summer wardrobe are the ones that flex. A dress that works for a garden party and a weekend lunch. Trousers that go from the high street to a restaurant in the evening. Accessories that lift everything. When you are choosing pieces, ask yourself how many ways you can wear them. The answer is usually the measure of whether something is worth buying.
